The Anthill Mob: Chris

Posted by anthillsoftwareleeds in Company - Last updated

Every month we sit down with one of the team here at Anthill HQ, to let you all get to know about them, and us, that little bit better…

Today it’s the turn of our Technical Lead, Chris!

Q. What is your role?

I generally look after the technology side of things.

With this being the case, my day to day responsibilities range from servers, datacentres and vendors through to the software we write ourselves.

Both coming up with great/crazy ideas for the future and responding to any challenges being faced by our customers raised in conversations with our Customer Success team.

I try to fold all that into the mix while presenting a coherent strategy for our development team and clients.

Q. What was your first job?

My first ‘proper’ job was in a science lab; with a nice white coat and lots of weird and wonderful glass things.

That paid for my first PC and ultimately started me down the software path. From here I learnt a couple of programming languages to build websites which ran early online-gaming leagues.

Q. What is your proudest moment at Anthill?

Perhaps a tad predictable given the circumstances, but I’m especially proud of how everyone rose to meet the challenges of 2020 and lockdown.

As a team we continued to support our customers as well as ever and were constantly improving the software and adding new features.

Multiple customers remarked how they were convinced having our system in place helped them through a tough time!

Q. What are your goals for the year ahead?

More of the same really. We have a good trajectory right now so to continue to build on that.

Q. What are you adding to the Anthill playlist?

Its rare, but I will sometimes sneak random theme tunes in.

Last was Smokey and the Bandit, next might be something classic like 633 Squadron…
