Every month we sit down with one of the team here at Anthill HQ, to let you all get to know about them, and us, that little bit better.
Today it’s the turn of our Implementation Manager, Ryan!
Q. What is your role?
As Implementation Manager I sit (physically and conceptually!) between the Customer Success Team and Technical Team.
I’ve had an interest in IT from a young age but also have a wealth of customer service experience, so it really is my ideal job!
I’ve always said that while I enjoy the ‘techy’ side of IT, I could never sit in a dark basement writing code all day every day. I need to get out and mingle with people!
Q. What was your first job?
My first job was as a waiter at Pizza Hut, aged 16.
The tips were good, but the free pizza even better!
I moved into retail aged 17, working for Next. My Mum still mentions how she misses the staff discount to this day!
Q. What is your proudest moment at Anthill?
I struggle to pick a single moment – it’s been a complete whirlwind since starting last year.
I’ve learned so much in such a short space of time, and I am incredibly proud to be given so much more responsibility so quickly.
Being trusted to lead scoping meetings with customers after just a couple of months with the business really meant a lot to me on both a personal and professional level.
Q. What are your goals for the year ahead?
I want to really learn the product and the capabilities inside-out so that I can begin dealing with enterprise-level customers independently.
Outside of work I want to become more proficient at Stand Up Paddleboarding – thus far I’ve been exploring lakes and rivers, so getting out on the open waves will be on the cards this summer!
Q. What other organisations do you most admire and why?
I really respect the charity ‘Mind’ and the work they do.
During the first COVID lockdown I saw first-hand some of the fantastic help they did in my local community.
This made me appreciate the importance of such organisations, and spurred me on to help raise funds for them, which has been a great success up to now.
I have to mention Pioneer – specifically Pioneer DJ – they constantly push the boundaries of audio tech and have been a mainstay as the industry standard for many, many years.
Without their equipment and software my uni days would have a lot less fun!
Q. What are you adding to the Anthill playlist?
My ‘office-friendly’ picks would be something by Portishead or Groove Armada.
I don’t think the team would put up with the repetitive nonsense I listen to at home!
