Today it’s the turn of Software Developer, James!
Q. What is your role?
My role at Anthill is that of a Software Developer.
My main duties involve improving the existing aspects of Anthill, building entirely new features, and fixing errors or bugs to elevate the performance of the platform.
Q. What was your first job?
Growing up I moved between several summer jobs in the retail industry. Everything from frying fish through to serving drinks and stocking shelves.
Q. What is your proudest moment at Anthill?
I am always proud when I complete the larger scale projects I am assigned. These often have a much greater impact on our product by improving its desirability to customers.
Some of the features would include the drag & drop functionality on our calendar, implementing the ability to send SMS text messages from the website, and being able to create repeating appointments, to name just a few.
I have also taken a keen interest in User Experience Design and enjoy making the processes in which to use our products the simplest and easiest they can be for customers.
Q. What are your goals for the year ahead?
My main motivation is to continue to learn and grow as a Software Developer.
I have already learned more than I could have imagined working at Anthill, and I wish for that trend to continue going forward.
Q. What other organisations do you most admire and why?
I do not admire any one organisation specifically, though I do value smaller, tighter knit communities over the larger corporations.
I believe smaller companies offer a more personal experience and treat employees more like a family where their work has more meaning, makes a larger impact, and does not go unnoticed.
Q. What are you adding to the Anthill playlist?
