inWelcome to the Anthill Guide on how to Automate Attaching Files via Email with Zapier!
The following document will outline how to email a file directly into Anthill and attach it to a customer record.
Anthill allows you to send these files by connecting with our Zapier app.
Below we shall explain how this can be achieved.
Before you start, you will require the following:
- A Zapier Account
- An Email Parser by Zapier Account
- Your Anthill Zapier API
Speak with your CSM if you need any help getting these details together.
Step 1: Link Accounts & Create A Mailbox
Ensure your Email Parser by Zapier and your Zapier Accounts are linked.
Log in to your Email Parser by Zapier Account.
Click “Create Mailbox” and save the created Email Address for later.
Step 2: Create An Integrated Zap
Log in to your Zapier Account.
Select “Make A Zap”.
For your Trigger App, select Email Parser by Zapier
Select “New Email” for the Trigger.
Click Continue.
Choose “Connect A New Account” from the drop down menu and authorise access to your Parser Account.
Referring back to the Email Address we created earlier in your Parser Account, select the corresponding mailbox from the drop down menu.
From your normal Email Account, send an email to the copied address to perform a test.
Step 3: Align With Anthill
This next stage involves creating the Action that will pull the files over to Anthill.
In the Search Apps bar, type in “Anthill” and select the latest version.
Now we need to select our “Action Event”. To do this choose “Upload Document” from the drop down menu.
Click Continue and Sign In To Anthill.
Fill out the fields. Your Subdomain and API Key are accessible through your Admin Settings, please contact your CSM if you are having trouble finding this.
Step 4: Set Up Your Action
To configure how the file appears on the Customer Record, our next step is to decide the format over this stage.
For the “File” option, select Email Attachment.
When doing this, be aware that all images, including signature logos or widgets, will be attached as a Zip file.
Toa void this, when sending them email, ensure the desired attachment is the only file on the email.
Select Lead as “Entity Type”.
Select ID as “Entity ID”; this will be the Lead ID assigned to your Opportunity within Anthill.
Now choose the “Attachment Type” that most accurately reflects the Document Type you’ll be looking to attach directly to a Customer Record.
Once successful, select “Turn On Zap”.
